We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Nurse to join our healthcare team in Scunthorpe. As a Paediatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their well-being and promoting optimal health outcomes. Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Provide comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to paediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans based on their specific needs.

  2. Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, adhering to prescribed dosages, routes, and schedules. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.

  3. Health Assessments: Conduct thorough physical assessments of paediatric patients, documenting vital signs, growth measurements, and other relevant health indicators. Monitor and report any changes in the patient's condition promptly.

  4. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including doctors, therapists, and other nurses, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for paediatric patients.

  5. Family Support and Education: Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, involving them in the care process and addressing their concerns and questions. Educate parents and caregivers on topics such as child development, nutrition, medication administration, and home care instructions.

  6. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, and medication administration records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  7. Medical Procedures: Assist with medical procedures such as intravenous catheter insertions, wound dressings, specimen collection, and other treatments as required. Ensure aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are followed.

  8. Emergency Response: Recognize and respond promptly to paediatric emergencies, providing immediate care and facilitating appropriate interventions while ensuring the safety and well-being of the child.

  9. Health Promotion: Actively participate in health promotion initiatives and educational programs for paediatric patients, families, and the community, focusing on preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and injury prevention.

  10. Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in paediatric nursing practices, attending relevant workshops, conferences, and training programs. Continuously improve your knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Nursing Qualification: Hold a valid and current nursing qualification, with specialized training in paediatric nursing.

  2. Licensure: Maintain an active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or relevant governing body in the UK.

  3. Paediatric Experience: Possess previous experience working as a Paediatric Nurse in a hospital or healthcare setting, demonstrating competence in caring for infants, children, and adolescents.

  4. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of paediatric health conditions, growth and development milestones, and best practices in paediatric nursing care.

  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.

  6. Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrate a caring and empathetic approach towards paediatric patients and their families, providing emotional support and reassurance.

  7. Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to the unique needs and challenges of paediatric patients.

  8. Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, promoting effective communication and coordination to ensure comprehensive patient care.
